Here it is, my degree work. It seems I have kept postponing the release of it, so here it is, Finally.
Fabric painting, silk painting, application and embroidery. Sore shoulders, fingers and arse.

WIP: Final rise of Phoenixe Imperiale (2014)
Some late update from Tuesday and Wednesday, when I had time to continue the silk painting.

Painted the wings and the first parts of the tail, looks pretty glowy. One wing took quite a while, but I managed to do it two days, whereas the second took only one day.
Here's the current, I need to use one whole day for the body, though I'm able to do it in two parts. Dunno when I'm gonna go and spend that day, maybe Saturday.
I also might use glue to make some chunks of ice stand out and become more 3D. I also got to use gold gutta for the legs and beak, I guess.

WIP: The Final Rise of Phoenixe Imperiale (2014)
I got to continue the silk painting, since I didn't want to start up the next part of the upholstery sewing, which takes time. I have a nasty machine in use, no matter how gently and gradually I step on the pedal, it looks like it's gonna go nice and easy... until one millimeter and it goes Fast and Furious on me. Anyways, back to the phoenix.
It looks rather horrible on that, it really does, made some mistakes. Also, should have used wet on wet, but I didn't want that uncontrolled mixing up. Another mistake. Next error was to add the reddish orange to the tail, I would have gotten so much better quality if I had only used the Inktense pencils for it.
Wait for itt...
TADAA
That is the lower wing from the angle the big one is right now. Pretty nice, despite the gutta bleeds a little, but hey, it's a layer work anyway.

WIP Final rise of Phoenixe Imperiale (2014)
So, yesterday and also tiny bits of today were spent working on the couch trio (named after Finland's famous singer brothers) and of course, my phoenix. I outlined it on the silk and with my typical luck, I forgot to make sure the fabric DOES NOT MOVE! The silk moved around and the result was a disaster. I had to redo several parts, not just with the Inktense pencils, but also with gutta, I managed to make a well all-around screw ups.
Sorry it's sideways.

Corrections, corrections. I'm also suspecting the silk version is larger, sort of... wider, but then again, it's in the frame now and it stretches it...Friday, May 2, 2014
WIP: Final Rise of Phoenixe Imperiale (2014)
Wednesday was supposed to be a couch day, but we ended up doing our own stuff, meaning, I got FINALLY to do the fabric painting part. At first I carefully outlined the phoenix on the actual base fabric, then I outlined it with gutta, more or less successfully. Then, I used light yellow to paint the phoenix and I got some interesting and accidental effects on it, when the wings and the torso ended up having slight feather-like print in it. Of course I only had my cell phone, so the pictures are crappy.
The background took some more works and it's actually still unfinished. I didn't think it through and I should have put plastic underneath it, so now the cover fabric has my phoenix design on it as well, since the colors bled through. Well, at least it gave me interesting effects and I have a lot more work to do maybe today (Friday). The blues are stronger and darker than in the model image, but I'll work over them with some white wash, so I'm not that screwed yet. I'll work it out.
The image colors lie a little, my camera is not doing well and besides, the paint was wet.

WIP: Final Rise of Phoenixe Imperiale (2014)
Also tested out the Derwent Inktense pencils that arrived in the mail. I bought them last year, but never used them, so gramps now sent them to me and I tested them out with and without a liquid silk paint. Works like a dream, I can't wait to actually do it now... And tomorrow I start shortening my work for the summer and work on a yet another couch. Yippee...

WIP Final Rise of Phoenixe Imperiale (2014)
Welp, got more ideas from the teacher today and I actually liked them. The main material I'd use is cotton, simple white cotton, but the embroidery isn't quite enough for it, so she suggested I put some filing beneath the phoenix to make it rise up and become 3D. I like the idea. Also she said I should try how silk looks on top of cotton. Tested and it would make it look more fiery with the sheen. Basically, I would applicate the phoenix over the icy background. I REALLY am starting to like the idea and tomorrow will be used on testing it out, I have an unused (barely) piece of silk I was gonna paint, but since it turned out shit, I can use the piece elsewhere. I also need to get a slightly smaller copy.
Photo taken with school's camera (which hates my guts) and edited a bit to get the colors correct.

WIP: Final rise of Phoenixe Imperiale (2014)
Still working on it and it's on a slight standstill, but I got a watercolor paper for the proper background now. Painting is always therapeutic, so after a good long nap, I'll probs paint. It's A2 size, so it will have extra at the edges, but I don't mind, I haven't checked the proper measurements yet.On the sidenote, I hate official writing.
My previous versions and what inspired me to do it. My band is dead forever, but the phoenix still lives on. I'm the Phoenixe Imperiale. I know, I'm a selfish bitch but I don't actually give a shit.
Phoenix Rises by Tom Wood and Cain's Offering CD cover by Alex Yarborough.Nemesis by Gyula Havanscak. I want to get the same fiery effect to the phoenix as on this.
These were the inspirations to the phoenix and by heavens I love fire. I love also ice.
Below are the inspiring pictures and the blowing ice down there is the major influence on the background.

I'm not gonna deny, also Pokémon is a good influence on Phoenixe's look and making an ice version is also rather tempting, but maybe later I'll make a reversed version. Ice phoenix in front of a burning background.
And this is how the current model fares. I've sharpened the colors and gonna color it whole tonight, it's gonna be a therapy of sorts.

Weaving: The Big Three (2013-2014)
Schoolwork: Redoing a livingroom (2014)
This was a school assignment. Take a room and redo it as a customer wishes so. This time, the customer was me and my fiancée and the room was the livingroom/kitchen of my grandparent's house. We had to draw a floor and wall plans in scale and in color.
Of course I wanted to get rid of the disgusting and boring pastel yellow walls and the even grey floor paint. Few things cannot be changed and I just took away the huge cupboard from the corner, since it needs new paintjob, obviously. I wanted at least one black wall and the sparkly Arctic paint called Kemi (oh the irony) is just what I needed. Slightly opaque. Also the oven wall loses the yellow and is gonna be all black. The brown wall covering on the sink wall also flies, I'm not that big fan of retro shit, having grown up among it really irritates me. Anyway, despite I like yellow, all the pastel yellows go to hell. The floor is still grey, this time charcoal grey, but I want the previous paint layers off so the natural wood shows from the planks.
I've edited this to get the colors to match with GIMP, which has turned out to be useful at times. The shelves and some of the other furniture are from Ikea, since it's cheap. I kinda want blinds on the windows or thick curtains, since the sun shines in from every window.
The cupboards will be purple and I picked the Rojo ceramic mosaic walls. I also want a table with benches, it makes it easier to move around. I also added a glass table, which I've always wanted, though it's scary to have one, considering my clumsiness.
The white doors also go and in comes bright red. Red and black are my favorites besides bright yellow.

Craft: Fabric painted tree (2014)
The tree I made for the French students that were visiting my school. They were supposed to press their handprints as leaves to this. That's one huge ass stump. Gee.
Tribal Tree (2014)
A tribal tree sketch. Simple as that. I was supposed to draw a tree on fabric. This was the original design.
Nightmask Crest (2013)
Largest dark elf family in my fantasy story. The aqua center is supposed to picture an opal. Was stuck lazy. As always.
Silentlock Crest (2013)
Crest of the leading family in my fantasy story. I'm not that good in designing crests of any kind, so these three I've drawn/painted and planning to or already have woven, are miraculous. These were made slightly in 2013.

Phoenix 3 (2013)
Colored a copy of the phoenix I'm making the relief of. It looks pretty neat, despite myself saying so. I didn't want the typical coloring and I think this even amplifies the tattoo effect in it. I'm not a tattoo designer and the tattoo I'm supposed to be getting is one of my worst drawings. I just hope the tattoo artist drew a better version of it. Speaking of which, I gotta ask her has she made alteration to it and how much it will cost...

Phoenix 2 (2013)
This is supposed to be a draft for the next course I have. I'm supposed to make a relief that has a meaning for me. Well, I drew this based on my another phoenix drawing. Once again, tattoo/tribal style. Dunno, these kinda drawings work for me, I don't need to be that accurate with everything, because I can spend hours on details. Seriously. These are rather quick to do and they look hella neat. Decided to leave this without color, so I can get a copy and work on levels. I have a lot of work to do...
